There are a lot of people today who do not understand why the Jews and Muslims can't get along in the Middle East. Many people don't understand why the Israelis don't just allow a split of their land to form a country for the Palestinians. After all, this would end all of the fighting wouldn't it? WRONG!! The Palestinians will never stop fighting for full control of this land because they think it belongs to them. Well, they're wrong; and you're about to find out why.
Every bit of the land that is being fought for in the Middle East belongs to the Jews. In fact, a lot of land that is not currently being fought over in the Middle East belongs to the Jews as well. God gave this land to the Jews when Abraham was on the earth.
Genesis 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates Gen 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
We see from the previous passage that God established His covenant with Abraham. All the land of Canaan was given by God to Abraham and his seed.
Genesis 26:3 (This is God talking to Isaac) Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
This passage shows us that the covenant with Abraham was passed on to Isaac.
Genesis 28:3 (This is Isaac talking to Jacob) And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; 4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. Gen 28:13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
This passage shows us that the covenant with Abraham that was passed to Isaac has now been passed to Jacob.
Muslims believe that the covenant with Abraham was passed to Ishmael and not Isaac because Ishmael was Abraham's first son. And therefore the land God gave to Abraham belongs to them (Muslims) because they are the descendents of Ishmael. Here is what God himself has to say about this.
Genesis 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac...
It is true that God blessed Ishmael, making him a great nation (which is true because look at how many Muslim Arabs there are in the world today). However, God said he would establish His covenant (of the land of Canaan) to Isaac, which is the line the Jews followed. So by spending a few minutes in The Book, we can solve one of the "greatest" problems in the world today. Which is more than any politician or one world government has done in many many years of trying.
