Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15

This study will focus on what the Bible says about how a Christian should study the Bible.  A lot of Christians spend an awful lot of money and time on books and other items hoping to learn a good or even better way to study their Bibles.  The problem is that they are relying too much on what men have to say rather than what God has to say.  If you want to learn how to study your Bible, open your Bible and see what it says on how to study.  2 Timothy 2:15 is the verse that tells you, first of all, that you need to study your Bible, and then it tells you how.

It is interesting that the only verse in the Bible that actually tells us to study is 2 Tim 2:15.  If you have any other version besides the King James you are not required by your "bible" to even study your "bible".  Take a look and see.  It's going to say something like "do your best".  Do my best at what?  Or it might say, "be diligent".  Be diligent at what?  Also, unless you have a King James Bible, you won't find in this verse HOW to study your Bible.  Why do you suppose that is?  Could it be there there is somone out there that doesn't want you studying your Bible?  Could it be that you have an adversary (1 Pet 5:8) who knows you only have one weapon against him (Eph 6:17) and he wants you to not be able to use that weapon effectively?  I think if you're honest with yourself you'll see the truth in this.

So we're going to focus not on the fact that you should study your Bible because if you are a Christian you should know that you need to study your Bible.  But we're going to focus on the last part of that verse that tells you HOW to study your Bible by rightly dividing the word of truth.

This study is a work in progress.  There is a date stamp at the top of the page that will tell you when I update the page with a new section.  If you are on the mailing list you will be receiving emails when I update this study.  If you are not on the list, either join the list, or just check back here often for updates.
