            B. Many try to fix a date or season based upon scripture: prophecy and/or typology:

                        -All contradict each other

                        2. even if someone guessed it; God would change it

                        3. it will be a surprise

V. What happens to those left behind?

            A. Matt 25:1-13

                        1. Three kinds of people at rapture

                                    a. Saved

                                    b. lost who heard gospel and rejected Christ

c. lost who never heard gospel and never had opportunity to accept Christ

                        2. saved will be taken

                        3. lost who heard and rejected will be shut out

                                    a. Matt 25:12-13

                                                iii. Rev 14:12

                                                iv. Rev 22:14

                                                v. Rev 7:14

vi. these folks have to have faith in Christ as well as live a good life according to the 10 commandments.  They also must not take the mark of the beast and will most likely die a martyr’s death.  Rev 20:4

                        5. doesn’t apply to anyone in this room now though

VI. How can I make sure I will be caught up in the clouds with Jesus when He returns?

            B. Admit you can’t save yourself

1. Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

C. Believe Jesus died, was buried and rose from the dead to pay for your sins and give you eternal life

            1. 1 Cor 15:1-4

D. Call upon His name to save you from your sins

1. Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

VII. Conclusion

            A. only skimmed the surface of this glorious event

            B. it’s exciting and should make you want to tell others about it
